Dana Auctions - Dana Auctions presents a sale of ethnographic textiles and material culture from around the world, opening with Turkmen, Afghan, Baluch, and Persian tribal rugs and travelling through Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas before closing with more than 130 Guna Yala molas from Panama. Highlights include a set of three vintage Indian Pichwai panels (Lot 79), hand-painted on silk in the Nathdwara tradition with multi-register scenes from the life of Lord Krishna; a Ndebele beaded mapoto (Lot 53), the marriage apron worn by married Ndebele women in South Africa, heavily worked in glass seed beads; and a mola panel adapting the RCA Victor “His Master’s Voice” trademark (Lot 168), which retains its original Aldao shop tag from Colón. The mola selection also includes complete women’s blouses, matched front-and-back pairs, and other panels.
