Guna Nuchu Carved Wood Dressed Medicine Figure - Guna Nuchu Carved Wood Dressed Medicine Figure. 15”. Traditional hand-carved wooden nuchu (uchu) medicine figure of a dressed woman in a floral printed wrap skirt and a traditional mola blouse with geometric reverse applique. She wears a necklace with charms, small yellow, red, and orange beaded bracelets, and a red headscarf with printed yellow motifs. Prominent brow, small black eyes, septum ring, and no mouth; the hands and feet are carved with lines for each finger and toe. Stands on its own. The skirt was originally blue, which can still be seen in some areas, and has faded. The headscarf is inside out, and there is some fading on the blouse.
