RUSSIAN PALEKH LACQUER TRINKET BOXES FOLK TALES
A lot of three vintage Russian lacquered wooden trinket boxes with hinged lids. Each has hand-painted decor on the lid, the inside is painted red. Palekh school. Two small black square boxes depicting folk tale characters, signed, titled Archer and Golden Fish on the bottom. A large red box of oval shape, the lid is decorated with a scene from The Tale of Tsar Saltan by Alexander Pushkin. Palekh is one of the largest centers of Russian lacquer art.
