RUSSIAN PALEKH LACQUER TRINKET BOXES SWAN LAKE
A pair of vintage Russian lacquered wooden trinket boxes with hinged lids. Each item is black with hand-painted decor on the lid, the inside is painted red. Palekh school. A figurative box representing a matryoshka doll. An oval box depicting two young women with swans, titled Swan Lake and signed underneath. Palekh is one of the largest centers of Russian lacquer art.
