RUSSIAN KHOLUY LACQUER TRINKET BOXES WITH BIRDS
A pair of vintage Russian lacquered wooden trinket boxes of octagonal shape with hinged lids. Each item is black with hand-painted decor on the lid, the inside is painted red. Kholuy school. The smaller box depicts a wooden church and a bird, titled Russian North underneath. The bigger casket depicts a black bird against the red background, titled Capercaillie underneath. Kholuy is a village in Ivanovo Oblast and an iconpainting school. Russian Lacquer Miniature For Collectors, Folk Art And Decor.
Dimensions: The bigger is 3 3/8 in diameter, the smaller is 2 1/8 in diameter. All measurements are approximate.
