Precious Treasure: Miniature Manuscript on Parchment - Birkat HaMazon, Tefillat HaDerech, Kriyat Shema al HaMittah and More [Ashkenaz, 18th Century]
Manuscript on parchment - anthology of prayers and blessings, with color pictures and beautiful illustrations. Beautiful scribal script in the Ashkenazic style, with instructions in Yiddish. [4] volumes in miniature format.
Specifications of the volumes:
1) Seder Birkat HaMazon. [8] leaf. Floral illustration on the last page.
2) Seder Eruv Tavshilin, Tefillat HaDerech V'Pidyon HaBen. [4] leaf. Leaf 2, with Tefillat HaDerech, has a color picture of a Jew riding a horse, on his way. Figure of an imaginary angel on the first and last pages. Floral illustration on leaf [3].
3) Seder Kriyat Shema al HaMittah . [6] leaf. The last page has an illustration of a basket of fruit.
4) Seder Birkat HaLevanah and prayers to be recited in a cemetery. [6] leaf. Color illustration of Jews bearing a bier for burial, on leaf [5]. Additional illustration on the last page (very blurred).
Total of [24] leaves. Modern parchment leaf bound between each and every leaf, with a matching page border. 8 cm.
Overall fine condition. Usage and aging stains. Faded ink. Several leaves have some illegible text. New leather bindings with a matching faded slipcase.
