Comprehensive classic commentary on the entire Nevi'im and Kesuvim by Rabbi Dovid Altschuler and his son Rabbi Yechiel Hillel Altschuler.

Complete set in 4 magnificent volumes. This was the first time that a complete set of all the Metzudos on Nach appeared in print.

Metzudas Dovid provides a basic explanation of the text while Metzudas Tzion interprets individual words.

Early Prophets: Livorno, 1780-1781. 44, [1], 45-87; [1] 91-300 leaves. Page size: 18 cm.

Late Prophets: Livorno, 1781- 1782. 235; [1], 228 leaves.

Scriptures: Livorno, 1780-1783. 238, 33, [1], 33-185 leaves.

Includes rare approbations by the Chida, Shaagas Aryeh and Italian Rabbis. The end of Early Prophets features a chart listing the generations in chronological order.

 The end of Scriptures includes words from the author’s regarding the sources of his commentary; poems by the author, other Italian sages, and the publishers; and a Hebrew calendar until the end of the 6th millennium. None of the above were ever published in later editions.

Leaves 113-123 in Sefer Yechezkel include a pamphlet entitled Binyan Habayis with a partial title page.

The commentary on Later Prophets was originally printed in Berlin in the year 1770, while the commentary on Scriptures was printed three years later in Zolkova. The present edition is the first time that the commentary on Early Prophets was printed alongside with the other volumes, with additions and supplements.

Complete 4-volume set in good condition. Beautiful half-leather binding with matching case. 

Exceptionally rare in such complete condition.
