An Ethiopian Double Edged Metal Sword, 19th Century
Description: With a carved horn and wood grip, a rectangular ricasso with an etched crowned Lion of Judah holding a processional cross and on the reverse initials, "G. C.," over a thermometer form engraved mark, the tapering double edged blade centering paired channels of shaped scrolling line and foliage details. Accompanied by a conforming hand stitched red leather scabbard centering stamped "X" banding flanking a single row of continuous open eye decoration.
Total length: 105.5 cm
Condition: Consistent with age.
