Letter from the Admor of Slonim Author of "Birkat Avraham" to Rabbi Moshe Blau, to Arrange a Certificate for a Relative on the Eve of the Second World War. 1938

Letter from the "Birkat Avraham" to arrange a visa for his in-law Rabbi Moshe Schiff. 1938.

Specifications: [1] leaf, paper. 21x27 cm. In the Admor's handwriting and with his signature.

Content: The Admor details his efforts to attain a visa and the negative responses he has received. He raises a possible reason for the negative responses he received, and adds, "Whatever the reason was, the question is what we should do now." He emphasizes the necessity of the matter as Rabbi Moshe Schiff is "from a pedigreed family and member of Pe'ilim Agudat Yisrael in Tiberias. He is in very bad condition and has no other way." Due to the urgency of the matter, the Admor asks to receive a reply as soon as possible.

The Admor Rabbi Avraham Weinberg [the third] [1888-1985], was author of Birkat Avraham, the Admor of Slonim, a member of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah of Agudat Yisrael and an educator. Born in Tiberias to his father, Rabbi Noach, a grandson of the author of Yesod HaAvodah from Slonim, founder and first Admor of the Slonim dynasty.

Rabbi Moshe Uri Blau [1885-1946] was the student and chief assistant of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld. He was the leader of the Eida Chareidit beginning in 1924 and one of the leaders of Agudat Yisrael in the Land of Israel. Director of the 'Ohel Moshe' yeshiva and editor of the Ultra-Orthdodox 'Kol Yisrael' newspaper.
