Carpet with portrait of Herzl - Made by Alliance - Jerusalem, early 20th century - rare condition
A carpet with a portrait of Herzl on the balcony of the "Three Kings Hotel" in Basel - the product of the weaving workshop of the "Torah Umelacha" School, founded by "Kol Israel Haverim" ("Alliance") - Jerusalem, early 20th century. Rare condition.
A red and yellow rug, in the shape of the Turkish prayer rugs (some believe it was created in Persia). In the center, Herzl is seen leaning against the balcony railing of the Three Kings Hotel in Basel (as originally photographed by Ephraim Moshe Lillian at the First Zionist Congress), watching a convoy of pioneers ascend the Tower of David on the way to Zion in the face of the rising sun. The edge of the rug has a decorative frame in a plant pattern, in the upper part of which is a Star of David.
