Max Klinger [1857-1920] German painter, sculptor, engraver, and writer. Klinger was born in Leipzig and studied in Karlsruhe. His best known work is a series of ten engravings entitled "Paraphrase on the Finding of" According to Visions and Dreams he Dreamed. Klinger traveled extensively in art centers in Europe for years before returning to Leipzig in 1893. From 1897 he concentrated mainly on sculpture. The Israel Museum features a number works of Max Klinger.


In the special edition before us are many engravings from all areas of Klinger's work.


Gilded letters on cover. Few stains. Very good condition.
