R. Elozor Fleckles (1754-1826), was a descendent of the MaHarAL of Prague and R. Heschel of Cracow. In his youth he learned for two years under R. Meir Fishelis and for ten years under the Noda B’Yehuda and he became one of his most prominent talmidim. He first served as Rov of Kojetein and in 1783, he was invited by the Noda B’Yehuda to serve on the Beis Din in Prague, eventually heading the Beis Din together with the Noda B’Yehuda’s son R. Shmuel. He was one of the greatest poskim of his era and his halachic responsa Teshuva M’Ahavah is one of the classic Sifrei Achronim, studied in great depth.
