Pennsylvania Queen Anne Walnut Chest on Frame
A Pennsylvania Queen Anne Walnut Chest on Frame, Third Quarter 18th Century. The upper section with three over two short drawers over three long graduated drawers. The upper three drawers with Quaker locks. The frame with scalloped skirt to three sides, raised on cabriole legs terminating in trifid feet.
Dimensions: Height 65in; width 40in; depth 22in.
Provenance: Property from a Philadelphia Main Line Collection.
Condition:
The upper section and frame together by association. The lip molding to drawer fronts with small losses and glued repairs. The waist molding is later added. The brass hardware is replaced and in secondary sets of holes, and highly polished with polish residue present to drawers fronts. The trifid feet to the frame have been completely restored; spliced and rebuilt. With key.
