Autograph letter by R. Yitzchok Elchonon Spektor (with two other Rabbonim), regarding the Sefer Imrei Tzedek, authored by R. Yosef Tzvi. Curiously, although the signatories undertook to purchase the Sefer upon its publication, it does not seem that the Sefer was actually ever printed.
R. Yitzchok Elchonon Spektor (1817-1896), was renowned for his Torah genius, diligence and righteousness. He was the supreme Torah authority of his generation and led Lithuanian and Russian Jewry for many years with perception and wisdom. He served in the Rabbinate from 1837. In 1864, he was appointed to the distinguished position as Rav of Kovno. His responsa and novella were printed in Be’er Yitzchok, Nachal Yitzchok and Ein Yitzchok.
