Autograph manuscripts of note are those from R. Menachem Mendel of Shklov (Lot 9A); The Tiferes Yisroel (Lot 40); and a 14th-century Ramba'n manuscript (Lot 9).

Two commentaries wrap around the text of this Hagadah: RaMa”P (R. Moshe Pesante) and RaSHa”B (R. Shlomo Baruch). Pesante makes extensive use of the medieval commentaries of Rabbeinu Isaiah di Trani, and of the brothers R. Zedekiah and R. Benjamin Anav, found in Shibolei HaLeket. The Hagadah was endorsed by R. Shmuel ben Perachiah Kohen Tzedek of Salonika.

R. Moshe Pesante, was an emissary from Safed who traveled through the Balkans, publishing in Constantinople in 1567 two works, one: Ner Mitzvah, a commentary on ibn Gabirol's Azharoth for Shavu'oth; the other Yesha Elokim, an exposition on the Hoshanoth. He was killed in 1573 by Turkish brigands near the Greek city of Arta.
