Attractive copy in ornate antique leather binding.
Siddur Shaar Hashamayim complete with all prayers including Selichos, Yotzros, Tehillim, Maamados, and Haggadah with commentary based on all methods of Torah study, and laws and customs in Ashkenazic rite by Rabbi Yeshaya Halevi Horowitz, the Shl”a Hakadosh.
Beautiful, complete copy in antique leather binding with gilded engravings, borders and decorative leaves and petals.
The Bach’s Promise
“There is no doubt that once it spreads among the nation, the prayer of one who prays from it shall not be unanswered.”
The sacred attributes and segulos attributed to this holy Siddur HaShl”a are well-known.
Since its publication, great tzaddikim, Chassidic masters and kabbalists have sought to pray regularly from this siddur in order to merit the Bach’s promise, that the prayers of one who davens from the Siddur HaShl”a will be answered.
The Shl”a compiled this siddur shortly after reaching Jerusalem in 1622 and treasured it deeply. In fact, this siddur was the only one of his works that he specifically requested his children to publish.
“It occurred to me to compile this holy work so it could be printed, and when it is prevalent among the people, then I will have a portion and merit in all the prayers of Yisrael” (Shl”a’s Will).
His last will and testament, along with specific instructions regarding printing Siddur Shaar Hashamayim, are printed in Leaf 3a of this siddur.
The psalm “Lamenatzeach b’neginos” appears in the shape of a menorah on Leaf 28b.
Amsterdam, 1742. Second edition (with additions and amendments to original edition). 28, 528 leaves. 152 leaves (Sefer Tehillim with illustrated title page dated 1740). 60 leaves (Seder Maamados with title page). Page size: 18 cm. Thick siddur. Highly impressive copy. Decorated edges.
