Among the pages of the book several glosses, some long in his handwriting.
Rabbi Raphael Yosef Shalom, son of Rabbi Abdullah s. Moshe Chaim [Rabbi of Baghdad], the cousin of the Ben Ish Chai, whose Torah and greatness were united on his table. He immigrated with his father to Jerusalem in the year 1841, and in 1954 was appointed chief clerk for the Hebron Kollel. Was at the center of the great controversy that broke out between the Jerusalem and Hebron Kollel.and the rabbis of Hebron printed a defense for him in the name "Eydut BeYosef", see A, ben Jacob, the Jews of Babylon in the land of Israel, pp. 24-27.
