Rachmana in Ladino. Bibliographically Unknown. Sefer Torah. El Libro de la Ley Translado in la Lengua Española
Rachmana in Ladino. Collection of prayers and liturgical poems for the days of Selichot and high holidays, per the Sephardic custom. Translated into Ladino. Printed in Rash"i script, without a title page. [Salonika, c. 1870.] Rare. The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book lists three works similar to this one, but shorter. They are all rare and are listed according to different libraries; they are not found in the National Library. The work before us is even rarer; it is not listed in the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book, nor by Ya'ari in his list of books in Ladino, nor is it found in the National Library. To the best of our knowledge, it is also not found in the large public libraries around the world.
96 pages, 19 cm. Ancient owner's signatures on pages 42 and 61. Fine condition. Aging stains. Original binding.
Sefer Torah: El Libro de la Ley Translado in la Lengua Española. Constantinople. A. H. Bweiagin Press. Constantinople, 1905.
Chamishah Chumshei Torah with translation into Ladino (the translation is in Rash"i script) on facing pages. The title page is in Hebrew and Ladino. According to Ya'ari, the book was printed for the English Mission (see: HaDefus HaIvri B'Kushta - 635).
[1] 297, 297 pages, 21 cm. Fine condition.
