Seder Tefillot - thick siddur with unique and rare prayers, including parashiyot read in the Torah on Mondays and Thursdays with a separate title page, according to the Sephardic custom, . Amsterdam, Attias Press, 1728. Uncommon siddur. Including the rare leaf.


The siddur includes prayers for weekdays, Shabbat, Rosh Chodesh, Chanukah and Purim, with Kabbalistic customs. The hymn "Yedid Nefesh" is printed at the beginning of the siddur. Leaves 67-83: "Night reading, Kabbalistic kriyat shema al hamittah ... the alphabetic recitation for each night of the week before going to bed, per the Chassidim HaRishonim."


The siddur also includes a Kabbalistic Tefillah HaDerech and prayers for travelers by sea. Leaves 222-223 state: 'Hashkavat Serufim al Kiddush Hashem' - meaning the anusim of Spain, whose relatives moved to Amsterdam. Meggilat Antiochus for Chanukah, and a Tikkun Purim poem. Song for the inauguration of the synagogue in Amsterdam. Parashiyot for Shabbat Minchah, and Mondays and Thursdays, with a dedicated title page. A calendar for eighty years (1728-1807) is printed at the end of the siddur, and a daily calendar indicating when Tefillat Tal U'Mattar begins being recited in the Diaspora.


  • The final leaf was printed in Spanish, and it includes the prayer times in Amsterdam. ("Tabla de Guia"). This leaf is lacking in some copies.
  • Handwritten dedications and glosses by various writers. One comment on the flyleaf, signed "Salonika Rosh Chodesh Ziv 1895." Several handwritten supplements.
  • The siddur is bound in a stunning antique gilt leather binding.

264, [1] leaf. Approximately 18 cm. (The title page is smaller: 14 cm.)

Fine-very fine condition. Cuttings at the top and bottom of the title page and the top of the following leaf, with very slight damage in the border. Tear in leaf 6 (from the pressure of the printing press) and several other leaves, without lack. Stains. Blemish in the spine.
