Wedding Condition Controversy. Sefer HaPargod. Pedigree Copy. New York, 1937
Sefer HaPargod about messengers for divorce before the chuppah, per the request of Conservative rabbis, to be carried out in America due to takkanat agunot, by Rev. Ya'akov Gershon Shein.
Large and interesting work opposing the recommendation for a 'condition in marriage.' Recommendation by the Conservative movement in America for prenuptial divorce, due to takkanat agunot. This recommendation was vigorously opposed by all gedolei Yisrael in Europe and the United States.
The sefer begins with an open letter against this recommendation from Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky, Rabbi Henich Eigesh, Rabbi Shimon Yehudah HaKohen Shkop, Rabbi Baruch DovBer Leibowitz and Rabbi Elchanan Bunim Wasserman.
Signature on the title page: Yisrael Shalom Yosef Friedman, 1942.
Rabbi Yisrael Shalom Yosef Friedman Ben-Shalom, the Admo"r of Pushkin, was also known as "HaAdmo"r HaTziyoni."
