Shu"t Maharashda"m. Copy that Previously Belonged to the Leading Chacham of the Orient, Rabbeinu Chaim Palagi. With his Signature and a Gloss

She'elot U'Teshuvot HaShayachut b'Shu"t Choshen Mishpat - one of the most important books of responsa for halachic adjudication, constantly cited in halachic literature, by Rabbi Shlomo di Medinah - Maharashda"m. Salonika, 1798.

Personal copy owned by the gaon and Kabbalist Rabbeinu Chaim Palagi, author of Kaf HaChayim (I) and one of the gedolei chachamei Sepharad in the period of the Acharonim. This is the copy he used while composing his famous sefarim, in which he mentions Sefer Shu"t Maharashda"m many dozens of times. His signature appears at the top of the title page in Oriental script: 'HaTza'ir Chaim Palagi S"T.' Later on, the sefer was passed on to one of his children, who wrote above the signature: "Ma'ata"r ... Rabbi Chaim Palagi ..." On the last page of the sefer is a notation ascribing the sefer to Rabbi Yosef ibn Ezra, in Oriental script.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for brief biographies of the author, the gaon Rabbi Shmuel di Medinah, known as Maharashda"m and the book's owner, the gaon and Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Palagi.
