"If you want to know who the rabbi was - look at his disciple, none other than the gaon Rabbi Moshe Sofer (the Chatam Sofer) and the action will attest to the actor" (Beit Ephraim, regarding the Ba'al HaHafla'ah)
Two pages with over [500] words handwritten by the world luminary, Rabbi Pinchas HaLevi Ish Horowitz, av beit din of Frankfurt, known by the moniker "Ba'al HaHafla'ah." The novellae deal with the topic Edav B'Chatumav Zachin Lo (Bava Metzia 13a) and they were not printed in the Ba'al HaHafla'ah's books.
These novellae are apparently from the Ba'al HaHafla'ah's ledger of novellae that was in the possession of his great-grandson Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Horowitz of Komárno, and there is evidence that there were Talmudic novellae that were not printed, as stated in the introduction to Chiddushei Hafla'ah al HaSha"s (Munkacs, 1895).
Thrilling phenomenon: In the margins of the first page, there are three substantial wax drops that dripped from the candle by which the Ba'al Hafla'ah wrote his insights at night.
