Historic: Collection of Rare Documents from the Budapest Community, Before and After the Holocaust
Collection including [13] rare letters, documents and certificates from the Budapest community, from the archive of the gaon Rabbi Yehudah Dov Singer. Several documents are from the early 1940s; most are from after the Holocaust.
Large and rare collection documenting the community life of Hungarian Jews in Budapest. The documents include: Various certificates from the community's beit din, documents from the Tiferet Bachurim Society, Rabbi Singer's ketubah (1930) and more. Documents such as these generally do not remain.
Total of [13] paper items. Various sizes.
Overall moderate-fine condition. Fold marks. Several leaves are made of fragile, brittle paper. Some have filing perforations.
