Early Set of Mishnah Berurah Printed by the Chafetz Chaim in his Lifetime
Set of six parts of the Mishnah Berurah, first and second editions, printed by the author in his lifetime.
It is well-known that listing the specifications of Mishnah Berurah is a very difficult task, as most that remain list the year detail according to the calculation from the first edition.
Specifications of these volumes (apparently):
Part I: Warsaw, 1884. First edition. At the end: Warning not to reprint the book without permission from the author or his representative. There are copies with the leaf at the end with stamped names.
Part II. Warsaw, 1896. Second edition. There are apparently copies with index leaves at the end.
Part III. Lacking the title page. First edition?
Part IV: Warsaw, 1899. First edition. "Mugah" notations handwritten by the Chafetz Chaim on the front binding and on the protective leaf.
Part V: Warsaw, 1902. First edition.
Part VI: Pietrkov, 1907. Second edition?
Overall fine condition.
