The author [1708-1750], Rabbi Yaakov Berlin, was a prominent German rabbi. He passed away at a young age, and this work was published posthumously by his brothers and sons. It includes prestigious approbations.
Owner signatures and stamps:
* Rabbi Yaakov Orner was the Rabbi of Modzitz and then Nasielsk [near Warsaw]. He published a number of works in which he added his own novellae: "Agudat Eizov" of his father-in-law Rabbi Zev Nachum Bornstein which includes Torah novellae from his uncle, the author's son Rabbi Avraham of Sochotschav, and his own Torah novellae; "Sefer Toras HaYehudi" from the from "HaYehudi HaKadosh of Peschischa" [Bilgoray, 1901] with the addition of his own novellae; "Nefesh Yehonatan" by Rabbi Yonatan Eibshutz with his "Tzion L'Nefesh" novellae. * Rabbi Chaim Meshulem HaKohen Kaufman-Utterman, Rabbi of Poltsok [1861-1924]. Was a disciple of Chassidic leaders Rabbi Meir Yechiel of Ostrovotza and Rabbi Chaim Eliezer Wachs of Piotrkow, author of "Nefesh Chaya". He was the Rabbi in a few Polish cities. He founded a yeshiva and headed it. He authored the book "Petach HaOhel" [Warsaw, 1902], and the works: Eile HaMitzvot, Eile HaMishpatim, Eile HaEidut, and more. [Refer to: Otzar HaRabbanim 6510].
