Tractate Bava Batra. Frankfurt on the Oder, [1699]. Unique Edition.
Tractate Bava Batra with Peirush Rashi and Tosfot. Frankfurt on the Oder, [1699].
176 leaves, 31 cm.
The tractate was printed independently, not as part of a set. Large format. The title page notes that the book was printed according to the version of the Maharshal – Rabbi Shlomo Luria – in his "Chachmat Shlomo". There are no other known tractates from this printing.
Especially rare. Tractate Bava Batra is extremely rare as an independent print. The only previous independent printing was of Pesaro-Soncino in [1509]. This edition was then printed in 1699. The next independent printing was done by the Romm Brothers in 1920.
Old, detached, half-leather binding. Aging stains. Nice, wide margins. Entirely complete. Fine condition.
