Letter from the Author of Gevulot HaAretz with a Map Sketched by the Author Himself

Important letter of elucidation from Rabbi Yitzchak Goldhar, author of Gevulot HaAretz (Jerusalem, 1913) with respect to an error in his book, together with a map drawn by him to correct the error.

In his letter, he is apparently writing to the printers about the mistake in his book in the map leading from Jerusalem to the Perath river, such that several cities appear to be in the middle of the river. In his letter, he corrects the error, and requests that they tell the "lithograph artist" to change the map accordingly. Rabbi Goldhar attaches a map he himself drew to the letter. We will point out that in his letter, he also mentions the names of some ancient, unknown cities in Iraq that are along the path from Jerusalem to the Perath river.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of  Rabbi Yitzchak Goldhar.

[1] leaf paper, 22x14 cm + map 21x27 cm.
