Torah Novellae by Rabbi Shmuel Eliezeri, Rabbi of Bayit Vegan

Rabbi Eliezeri was born in Lithuania. He was a primary disciple of the Chafetz Chaim. He also studied under other Lithuanian giants: R' Elchanan Wasserman, R' Eliyahu Dushnitzer, R' Baruch Ber and R' Chaim Ozer. In 1925 he ascended to the Land of Israel where he settled in Jerusalem to study at Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kook's yeshivah. He became one of his foremost students. He was rabbinically ordained by leaders of Jerusalem. He was appointed rabbi of the Bayit Vegan neighborhood already in 1931 where he served until 1958. Those same years, he was a regular contributor of divrei Torah to the Torat Eretz-Yisrael anthology. He was famous for his expertise, and clear intellectual rigour. These characteristics led him to the field of book editing. He was one of the founders of the Harry Fischel Institute for Talmudic Research, and he diligently edited their books. He was one of the most prominent editors of Encyclopediah HaTalmudit and Machon L'Cheker HaHalachah. He passed away in 1991.

He was very active in raising the banner of religion in the IDF, and authored several books on Talmudic tractates in Zera'im and in Mo'ed.

This lot includes hundreds of manuscript leaves of novellae in Zera'im and Mo'ed, the hahachahs of birkot hanehenin, lengthy and brief ma'arachot.
