German WWII Modification of a Luftwaffe Belt Buckle
Postwar or export in stamped steel, Luftwaffe belt buckle (Kasten-Koppelschloss). Marked, with some kind factory engraved motive, 2 parts construction. Eagle (Luftwaffe) centre replaced by a dome with a scroll pattern. Unusual variant! Postwar factory re-issued for civilian purpose. Thousands military items were re-done at the factories to use in civilian life, same happened to Luftwaffe buckles. The middle oval part with eagle and swastika has been removed and changed for more neutral one. Rare to find. Maker (Hersteller) : Dr.F.& Co. - Dr. Franke & Co., Ludenscheid.
