Responsa Regarding an Agunah from the Mahar"am ben Chaviv. Seemingly in the Handwriting of His Grandson, the Gaon Rav Yaakov Kuli, Author of "Me'am Loez"

A section from the responsa regarding an agunah, by the great Gaon, Rav Moshe ben Chaviv, author of "Get Pashut" and "Kapos Tmarim". It seems that this responsa was written in the holy handwriting of his grandson- Rav Yaakov Kuli, known for his sefer "Me'am Loez", who prepared his grandfather's writings for publication.
This responsa was printed at the end of Sefer Ezras Nashim, printed by Rav Yaakov Kuli in Constantinople 5491. Rav Kuli incorporated his notations in the sefer, with each notation starting with the initials: א"ה. There is such a notation at the end of the above responsa.

The pious Gaon, Rav Yaakov Kuli, author of "Me'am Loez", son of the daughter of the Mahar"am ben Chaviv. Prepared and published the writings of his grandfather: "Get Pashut", "Shemos Ba'aretz" and "Ezras Nashim". He is known for his preparation of the Sefer "Mishneh Lamelech" on the Rambam, in which he added his own important notations. The Chid"ah goes out of his way to praise him in a number of his writings, for example: "And I heard from the holy and pious abovementioned Mahar"i Kuli Z"l, and his diligence in Torah..." "And I heard that the wise, complete and pious one who causes the multitudes to have merit (mezaceh harabim), our honorable teacher, Harav Yaakov Kuli Z"l took upon himself to fast for three days, and on the third day after midday, someone called him to come to his house for an important reason, and gave him something to drink. He drank, in order to avoid saying that he was fasting..."
