Thank You Letter from Sir Moses Montefiore. London 5601 [1841]
'His shining lines have reached me, and I rejoiced in them as if they were a great fortune, as I saw that his words were founded upon beautiful poetic language and metaphors, with very good taste.'
The letter is beautifully written by a scribe, with the handwritten Hebrew and English signature of Sir Montefiore.
It seems that Rav Moshe Wolf- (to whom this letter is written) the scribe of the Chevra Kadisha of Prague sent a letter of blessing to Sir Montefiore, for his assistance and activities regarding the Damascus affair, and Sir Montefiore is answering this letter.
Rav Moshe Wolf authored the sefer Zichron Leyom Acharon (Prague 5588-5590).
