Mishmeres Shalom- Copy of Rav Naftali of Vishnitza, son-in-law of the Rav of Shinawa.

Sefer Mishmeres Shalom on the Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh Deah by Rav Shalom Shachna of טשערניק.

On page before title is stamp of Rav Naftali Rabin, Av Beis Din of Vishnitza and the hand signature of his son-in-law- Rav Yitzchak Rubin- Av Beis Din of Tzefas.

Rav Naftali Rubin (5621-5698) was the great-grandson of Rav Yeshaya of Ropshitz and son-in-law of Rav Yechezkel of Shinawa. He ate from his father-in-law's table and learned there for a number of years together with his brother-in-law- Rav Menachem Mendel of Frysztak. Because of their great diligence in learning, the Rav of Shinawa forbade them from using his kerosene lantern at night. However, they found other ways to continue their night learning. From year 5659 he served as Av Beis Din of Vishnitza, and his father-in-law- the Rav of Shinawa traveled to his coronation. His son-in-law Rav Yitzchak Rubin- (5640-5676) son of Rav Avraham Yehoshua Heshel Av Beis Din of יאסלא, grandson of Rav Asher Yeshayahu of Ropshitz; learned kabbala each evening with the Rav of Shinawa, and when the Rav passed away, Rav Rubin made aliya to Tzefas and learned kabbala with the Maharsha Alfandari. He passed away at the young age of 36.

On last page is written: The small one, Chana Tzvi Rubin- we are unsure if this is his signature. Rav Chana Tzvi was the son of the abovementioned Rav Naftali, and one of the important grandsons of the Rav of Shinawa who led the congregation until his murder- Hashem Yikom Damo. See more about him in sefer Rabbeinu Hakadosh Mishinava, volume II page 719 and on.

Additional stamp of Rav Zev Wolf Turnover, Av Beis Din of Shotz, and the signature of his grandson the Admor Rav Moshe Meir Leiper of Nadvorna-Bania.

Warsaw 5657 [1897]. Paper restorations on title page, beside for this in good condition.
