Pshita - A Humorous Literary Magazine Edited by Wieseltier - Two Issues 1967
Pshita: a literary magazine for everyone / chief editor: Meir Wieseltier.
Editorial board: Yona Wallach, Nachum Cohen, Elisha Banovitz, Yair Horwitz and Yossi Avishar.
The first issue was published in July 1967, only a month after the Six Day War. Includes satirical pieces, such as "a false interview with an Israeli laureate" (Schlonsk), and a short (unsigned) article "The Hebrew Muse" about the literary world's silence. With poems by Wieseltier, Wallach and Horwitz, as well as photographs and illustrations. The second issue includes a review of literary supplements, including the Ha'aretz supplement that called the first issue of Pshita "nihilistic". Also an article about the paintings of Uri Lifshitz (including reproductions), an article by Wieseltier "A brown watermelon", a poem by Mordechai Geldman and more.
Extremely rare.
Good overall condition, reasonable wear.
