Michael Druks - Outline for an Exhibition - 1972
An envelope addressed to Meir Wieseltier, including his full address in Tel Aviv. Sent from England by Druks, including his London address.
Inside the envelope is a long letter in Druks' handwriting, spanning both sides of the page. In the letter he explains the nature of the attached materials as well as details about additional ideas for exhibitions.
Attached to this letter are many photographs, regarding which Druks details and even attaches small illustrations next to each line:
- Three "hidden shots" in which a TV screen is photographed with a hand hiding it (according to the letter - there were supposed to be eight).
- "Television interference script", a board on which nine pictures of television screens are pasted.
- "open-closed", two photographs of television sets, one projects an image of a flowerpot and says ON while the other shows a flowerpot right in front of it and says OFF.
- "Image", a photographed collage in which the artist is seen sitting twice on both sides of a television screen that also projects his portrait.
Also, as mentioned, Druks shares ideas for three projects: "Political fashion", "Information overload" and "Cold hunt communication".
Attached to the envelope are two additional photographs that are not mentioned in the letter. At the end there is a signature in English as well as the date June 30, 1972.
Envelope size: 33X26 cm. The items are in good condition.
