Report on the Hussein-McMahon Letters - London 1939
Report of a Committee set up to consider certain correspondence between Sir Henry McMahon (his Majesty's high commissioner in Egypt) and the Sharif of Mecca in 1915 and 1916.
Printed and published by his Majesty's Stationary Office, London, 1939.
The report of the committee that examined the correspondence between Sir Henry McMahon (1862-1949), who was the British commissioner in Egypt, and Hussein (1853-1931), who was the Sharif of Mecca. The correspondence between them took place in 1915-6, and an informal discussion was held in which The Sharif wanted to establish a united Arab kingdom in the territories of Greater Syria, and in return the British asked for assistance in eliminating the Ottoman Empire from the area.
English, 51 pages, 24X15 cm. Good overall condition.
