Welcome to our new auction: a beautiful and rare collection of original art from around the world. Includes German Expressionism, engravings by Goya, Kathe Kollwitz, Andreas Paul Weber, Max Lieberman, Ludwig Schwerin, Marc Chagall, Alfred Kubin and dozens of other artists.
The collection belonged to Felix Yehiel-Michael Meinz (1899-1978) who was an art lover and devoted collector, mainly of engravings and lithographs. Meinz belonged to the group of Agudath Israel workers, served as a soldier in the First World War, and later was a partner in the establishment of Bank Alran, which was later assimilated into the Union Bank.
The auction will take place on Tuesday, March 28 at 18:00 p.m Israel time.
Physical examination of the items will be done by prior arrangement only.

Paul Gavarni - Five Lithographs on Fashion Cut from Le Charivari - Paris, Circa 1840

Good general condition.
Paul Gavarni (1804-1866) was the pen name of Guillaume Chevalier, a French illustrator who was born and worked in Paris. Most of his work appeared in the magazine "Le Charivari" which also published the illustrations of Daumier, Dore and others. Gavarni illustrated several books by Balzac and "The Wandering Jew" by Eugène Sue.
