A bronze padlock with rotating chambers in a frame with animal-head flange and loop, inscribed in seriffed capitals 'VICTVM VIVAS' (live defeated). 38 grams, 34mm (1 1/4"). Fair condition.

Property of an Essex collector; acquired on the UK art market in the late 1990s.
