Inside these bills lies the secret of designer Dror Ben Dov, a "Bezalel" graduate. Guy, his son, born in 1965, fell in battle in southern Lebanon during his military service as a fighter in the 890th Battalion of the Paratrooper Brigade, on July 10, 1986. At the time he fell, his father Dror was in the middle of the process of designing the banknote. Ben Dov debated whether to continue the design process, finally decided to continue. Later in the process, the Bank of Israel requested to incorporate a monogram into the banknote, whose role is to prevent counterfeiting of banknotes. Adding his son's name to the bill was the father's way of commemorating his fallen son. Last January, Ben Dov died at the age of 86 Credit: to Portfolio Magazine
