The work was written following a deathly plague that occurred in Mantua.

It concludes with Pitum HaKetoret to stop the plague using Kabbalah, by Kabbalist Rabbi Yehosef ibn Shraga of Marzinti, an early Spanish Kabbalist who moved to Italy and passed away in 1609.
