Krasov (real name – Nekrasov) Nikolai Dmitrievich studied at the Moscow University (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics). Participated in the performances of the Society of Art and Literature. On the professional stage since 1892. He worked in the provinces (Vladimir, Yaroslavl, Saratov, Kazan, etc.), in the St. Petersburg Theater Lit. artistic circle.

In 1901-04 he held business enterprises in Astrakhan, Baku, Tiflis, in 1915 - 19-in Vladikavkaz. He also acted as a director.

His productions (often copies of the Moscow Art Theater productions) were marked by his knowledge of the stage and great experience.

Krasov's activity contributed to the development of the Russian provincial theater, his troupes were famous for a good selection of actors, a well-coordinated ensemble performance. Krasov's acting works (Hamlet, Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich, etc.) were distinguished by their thoughtfulness and careful finishing.

K. was also a director at the V. F. Komissarzhevskaya Theater in St. Petersburg (1904-06), the main director of the Moscow Korsha Theater (1911-12), and others.
