Breastplate for persons who have completed the full course of non-medical faculties of the Imperial Russian Universities. 1899 - 1917. Tailcoat.
4 silver, hot enamel, screw fastening (king-style nut, with "ears").
Jewelry stamp: letters ЗР on a sunken square. 
Size: 36 x 16 mm. Weight: 6 gr. 
The gilding is partially lost.
The academic badge of the imperial universities for non-medical faculties was a vertical slotted metal rhombus (gold or silver or gilded bronze - depending on the financial capabilities of the person being awarded), covered with white enamel, with a cross superimposed on it covered with blue enamel and crowned with a gilded image of a Russian eagle, just below which was a laurel wreath. The badge was made, as a rule, from silver by mints or jewelry workshops, its size was 50-65 mm, fastening - on a screw.
In addition to the breastplate itself, a smaller copy could also be made of silver or copper for wearing on the lapel of a frock coat or tailcoat - the so-called. "coat", its dimensions, as a rule, did not exceed 30 mm, fastening - on a screw or pin.
The right to wear badges on graduation from imperial universities extended to graduates of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Warsaw, Kazan, Kharkov, Yurievsky (now Tartus), Kiev St. Vladimir, Novorossiysk (Odessa) universities.
