Item/Description: Art Deco silver and enamel signet ring by J.E. Caldwell and Company. James Emmott Caldwell. Fashioned from Sterling Silver mounting. Stream line design. Tapered band. Decorated with alternating squares of blue and green enamel. Center dark navy glass cabochon stone bezel set into open back mounting. Hallmarked: J.E.C. & Co.

James Emmott Caldwell began his career studying watchmaking, silversmithing, and jewelry craftsmanship in New York City. His first store was established as a partnership in 1839 as Caldwell & Bennett. In 1841 he restructured the business to form J.E. Caldwell & Co. in Philadelphia.

Material: Sterling Silver, enamel, glass

Dimensions: Width (band): 1/2"; Height: 1/4"; size 6; approximately 10 grams

Condition: Very Good. Glass stone secure in setting, free of chips, cracks. Enamel squares all intact. Signs of use, age and surface wear including scratches, tiny flea bites to stone visible upon magnification, scratches to silver.

4. Estimates published, showing both a high and low end range for each item, are of the opinion of Taurus Auctions as to the fair auction value for each item. Taurus Auctions makes no warranties as to finite value for item(s) sold. You as the bidder decide the final price. <BR><BR>

5. While many lots are listed without reserve prices, at times, Taurus Auctions or its consignors may assign minimum selling prices to select lots in each auction. Taurus Auctions may execute bids on the behalf of our consignors due to reserve prices. <BR><BR>

6. Taurus Auctions reserves the right to refuse admission to our facility, reject any bid or to refuse to acknowledge certain bidders. The highest bidder, whether in the salesroom, absentee, on the telephone or online will be acknowledged and recorded by the auctioneer. <BR><BR>

7. The purchase price payable by the buyer shall be the sum of the final bid plus a buyer's premium of 18% and any applicable taxes in the state of New Jersey. <BR>

8. Taurus Auctions is not responsible for items left at our facility for more than fifteen days.<BR><BR>

9. Purchases are subject to 6.625 % New Jersey State sales tax unless you are a registered dealer or re-seller and exempt from state and local sales tax in which case a completed New Jersey resale certificates must be provided to Taurus Auctions Auctions prior to the time of purchase. <BR><BR>

10. Taurus Auctions is not liable for damaged or missing items after they are signed out and removed from the gallery.  Taurus Auctions is not responsible for or liable for any lots paid for and not picked up within 14 days of auction date. By departing from the pickup site you, or your agent, acknowledges that you have all your items and that you are satisfied with them. No claims are permitted after removing items from the premises, as condition issues cannot be validated once items are released into your possession.  Taurus Auctions is open Monday through Friday 10AM - 5PM for pick up. 11. In providing your credit card information to pay an invoice, you authorize Taurus Auctions to charge the cost of product and/or service to your credit card either through the payment portal or as indicated on signed, paper authorization form. This payment is for goods/ services won at auction and certifies that you are an authorized user of this credit card and that you will not dispute the payment with your credit card company; so long as the transaction corresponds to the terms indicated.
