Modern, Silver Havdalah Set. Handmade by the Bezalel Artist and Designer Yaakov Greenvurcel. Jerusalem, ca. 1980

Pure silver Havdalah set, designed by the prize-winning Bezalel artist Yaakov Greenvurcel. The Havdalah set includes a Kiddush cup, spice box, candlestick and a wooden tray. The Havdalah set is in the permanent collection of the Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles, USA.

Overall, Greenvurcel created 7 designed Havdalah sets; this one is the second design created by him as a Havdalah set. 


The design style of the handmade Judaica items made by the Bezalel artist and designer Yaakov Greenvurcel is modernist, characterized by minimalism and clean lines. The items are made by special order, mainly of silver, and in a small quantity. Yaakov Greenvurcel is a master designer who uses unique silversmith techniques. His designs bring a fresh wind to the traditional artifacts, which are nevertheless in accordance with the Jewish law. 


Yaakov Greenvurcel, an exceling graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, and a prize-winning silversmith, is one of the leading designers in the world of Judaica and functional art.
