Fundamental Philosophy Book: Derashot HaRan. Constantinople, 1533. First Edition. Rare and Valuable Copy.
Derashot HaRan is a philosophical work authored by Rabbi Nissim Girondi, comprised of lengthy and complex sermons.

The Ran not only shared his scholarly learning, but transmitted for generations the principles and fundamentals of faith. Derashot HaRan is a compilation of lectures on these pivotal matters.

Rabbi Nissim Girondi (circa 1290-1375-6) was one of the Spanish Rishonim. Rabbi Yosef Karo held him in great esteem, lauding Rabbi Nissim in his introduction to his book, Beit Yosef.
Rabbi Nissim was a leading Halachic authority and commentator of Rabbi Yitzchak Alfasi’s (The Rif) writings. He authored commentary on most tractates of the Talmud.

A prominent 14h Century Spanish Torah scholar, Rabbi Nissim was highly esteemed and considered a propagator of the paths of Rabbi Yonah of Girondi, the Ramban and the Rashba.
