A precious find! Kabbalistic work, Kanfei Yonah, handwritten and signed by the Kabbalist Rabbi Naftali Bachrach, author of Emek HaMelech, with important unpublished glosses!
Handwritten copy of Kanfei Yona. A fundamental Kabbalistic work by Rabbi Menachem Azariah of Fano, copied by Rabbi Naftali Hertz Bachrach, author of Emek HaMelech. Signed “Written and proofread from manuscripts that were before him”
The book was proofread and signed by Rabbi Naftali Hertz Bachrach, and his glosses are interwoven in the text and written in the margins.
This work was edited before the current manuscript, and space was left for glosses by the Emek HaMelech, but during the writing of this item, more comments arose and were written beside the manuscript.
In addition, this manuscript passed through the hands of by the great Gaon of his generation, Rabbi Yair Bachrach, author of Chavot Yair, who wrote from it at the beginning of the manuscript.
This manuscript was examined by Prof. Moshe Idel, who wrote an article about it.
The manuscript is complete, a nice copy in antique Ashkenazi script, with changes from the printed version. The rabbi incorporated many glosses, in “windows” and in the margins of the folios. Many of these glosses were never published, are by the great Kabbalist Rabbi Naftali Bachrach Ashkenazi, author of Emek HaMelech, and were unknown until now.
In addition, this manuscript contains dozens of glosses and revisions that were never published, and sometimes the scribe gives a decisive answer on questions concerning the correct wording.
