Oiran y Danna en bronce patinado S.XIX
"Oiran and Danna" in patinated bronze, Japan Meiji Period (1868-1912).
The oiran was a high-ranking courtesan characterized by luxurious dress and more than eight large hairpins (kanzashi) holding the bun. The danna was the patron or protector of a geisha and her official lover.
Height: 41 and 43 cms.
