元朝(1279-1368) 钧窑蓝釉玫瑰紫斑梅瓶
Pottery covered by a bright turquoise blue glaze with purple splashes that is diluted at the edges. Delicate potted. The covering is thick and is more concentrated in the lower areas, reaching to the base without finishing evenly. The foot is unglazed, although it has a glaze stain in the center.
The acquired shade "purple-splased" (天????釉紫红), a mixture of copper oxide, is produced in the kiln and in a natural way not existing the possibility of existing both with the same pattern. Pieces made in traditional kilns have impurities and bubbles.
The name "meiping" (梅瓶) translated as "plum vase" is considered since its invention in the Tang dynasty as the perfect way to display a plum blossom branch. The main features are a narrow mouth with a short neck over broad, high shoulders with an elongated silhouette that narrows progressively. Its purpose is to mimic human characteristics.
It is in very good condition, being a very sought after type of piece by collectors.
