The Imperial Porcelain Factory (Neva Porcelain Manufactory, the State Porcelain Factory (GPZ), the Lomonosov Leningrad Porcelain Factory, the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (LFZ) was founded by decree of Elizabeth Petrovna. Since 1747, under the management of Dmitry Vinogradov, the plant began to produce high-quality porcelain. Since 1750, the production of snuffboxes, porcelain eggs and small dishes was established, mainly for emperors, their families, princes, state structures and diplomatic gifts. During the reign of Nicholas I, the main products of the plant were vases. The plant's products were sold in company stores in St. Petersburg and Moscow, were presented at fairs, auctions, exhibitions, including abroad (Riga, London, Paris), where they were awarded medals. In 1837, a room for demonstrating samples was arranged at the plant, which by 1845 had turned into a museum. In revolutionary times, the plant produced items for the benefit of the propaganda direction. (order for the propaganda train "October Revolution"; items dedicated to the assassination attempt on Alexander II; plates dedicated to the 8th Congress of Soviets in Moscow). Notable works: a series of figures “Peoples of the Russian State” (1780s), “Arabesque Service” (1784), a bust of Catherine II, a service “Kremlin”, sculptures by Adamson: “Listen to the whisper of the sea”, “Kiss of the wave”, “The Birth of Venus”, “Last Breath of the Ship”, “Demon”, “Scream of the Soul”.
