Savitsky Georgi Konstantinovich (1887-1949).
Born in St. Petersburg 1887. Son of K.A. Savitski. Studied at Penza Art College 1902-08; Imperial Academy of Arts 1908-15. Began exhibiting 1916. Member of AKHRR from 1922. Association of Realist Artists from 1927 (founder member). Union of Soviet Artists 1931. Taught at Moscow Art Institute/ Surikov Institute 1947-49.Awarded Stalin Prize 1942/45. Died in Moscow 1949.
