Mosin Anatoly Gerasimovich (1924–1979)

Soviet graphic artist; illustrator, cartoonist, poster artist. Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Since 1942, Anatoly Gerasimovich took part in the Great Patriotic War with the rank of junior lieutenant. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree. Took part in the release of "Windows TASS" propaganda posters in the city of Chita. Together with Mosin, the following artists worked at TASS Windows: DI Ivanov, G. Toloknin, VI Polikarpov, L. Gruzdev, M. Otarov; text authors: I. S. Lugovskoy, V. Shegov, O. A. Khavkin, I. Molchanov-Sibirskiy and others. During the war, artists issued 427 titles of posters, organized two exhibitions of painting and graphics, three exhibitions of propaganda posters, one of which was mobile. After the war, he studied and graduated from the Rostov Art School named after M. B. Grekov. His creative life was associated with the Rostov Book Publishing House. In 1960, it published Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, illustrated by Anatoly Mosin. Also, he illustrated the story "The Enchanted Wanderer" by N. S. Leskov (1954), the novel by A. N. Tolstoy "Walking through the agony" (1967), the poem "Vasily Terkin" by A. T. Tvardovsky (1967), the story "Childhood" Maxim Gorky (1969). In the association he worked together with the artists R. S. Shutenko, D. M. Paluy, A. A. Mardirosov and others. Graphic works and posters by A.G. Mosin are in the Russian State Library (RSL), the Rostov Regional Museum of Fine Arts, the Salsk Art Museum named after V.K. State Historical and Architectural Art Museum-Reserve, in the funds of the National Library of Belarus.
